Is it just me or Project Runway getting to be on the dull side so far? Last night as I watching the New York City inspiration challenge runway show not a lot of designs wowed me as previous seasons did. Where is the extravagant of Santino, the draping-loving Rami or the big glasses wearing Jay McCarroll? Speaking of Jay remember the dress he designed from his inspiration of the Empire State building season 1. Classic PR.
The only time I cracked a smile was when Tim Gunn was trying to get, how do the say it? 'Gangsta' yeah that was pretty funny. Maybe I am expecting more out of the designers themselves or I need to wait to get more into the season. Don't get me wrong I will still be watching Project Runway especially with the switch to Lifetime and Nina to Marie Claire. But so far not too thrilled.

Not to end on a negative post I did enjoy Leanne skirt!

Have you ever bought something that just need a little tweaking? Well I recently bought an inexpensive blazer (above) and realized that the fit was nice but the blazer itself lack a certain modernism. So I trolleyed (ha ha) down to my local trimming shop, MJ Trimmings and picked up a few black leather buttons that had this great vintage quality look to them. A few people in the shop said it looked great but I would like to know what you guys in the fashion web world thinks... comments anyone?

And then I don't feel so bad.
Just watched My Fair Lady gotta love that Audrey Hepburn.
Anyway technically the season right now is summer but I would like to remember my favorite things from my internship at Harper's that I swooned over for a few months. So let me share.

As I was cleaning out my room and other closets in my house, I found a few ElleGirl magazines. I remember Ellegirl like it was ages ago but it was only two years ago the magazine closed. As I sat on the floor with these old issues looking at the pages, I realize why this magazine was loved by me and other teen girls. Ellegirl had what I called "the real reach". Magazines today have wonderful imagery but when I say real reach I mean clothes that TEEN girls can actually buy and wear and editorials that encouraged creativity within a teenagers reach. I remember talking to a girl who saw me looking a high fashion magazine as she started to spark up a conversation she said, "these magazines can be so pretentious." Can she be right? I look at many magazines for the features and of course the fashion editorials, I hope one day I can own a Christian Dior dress or make that decision to put that dress in a magazine. It's great to know about designers such as Dior, YSL and Chanel and what they have to offer each season and it also comforting to have or had a magazine to let their readers know about Delias, Alloy and Forever21. I need to stop ranting, ok!
