Ray-Ban's held a launch event for their District 1937 collection in New York with performances by rock icons Blondie and MS MR. The exclusive one-night only event created a factory workshop environment with interactive art installations revolving around the iconic eyewear brand's innovative new materials collection. Celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Zoe Kravitz, Coco Rocha, Ireland Baldwin, Chromeo, Zosia Mamet, George Kotsiopoulos, Atlanta de Cadenet and Mia Moretti were in attendance to celebrate the new leather, denim, steel, titanium and velvet designs. The name DISTRICT 1937 recognizes the Garment District’s distinct heritage since the early 20th century as one of the centers of fashion and textile design and manufacturing, as well as Ray-Ban’s beginnings in 1937 as a manufacturer of specialty eyewear for the U.S. Air Force.
