Who: Brandon Maxwell Spring/Summer '18 Runway Show

Where: Doubles Club New York

Overall: Having some of the hottest models fiercely grace your runway is just the icing on Brandon Maxwell's cake for his Spring/Summer '18 runway show. We all know Brandon can give some amazing red carpet and evening wear looks but he took a turn this season. He turned to the more casual side by incorporating jeans in his collection. Without abandoning his aesthetic of fluidity and tailoring, the blouses to the sweaters still had that Brandon's touch. Even though it was obvious that Brandon is trying to slowly branch out of the evening wear category, I hope he doesn't lose core customer.

It's no secret that people are proudly voicing their opinions online and in the streets protesting. Since the election and the President's executive orders, people eyes are open to the targeting of certain group of people. For Fashion Week in New York, some designers took a moment in their fashion shows to show solidarity in their own way. Ways of music at the fashion shows and most popular through t-shirts, as you can see below. I would've love to see this unity when black unarmed men was getting gunned by the police, but I guess something major as this election had to happened for people to realize why a group of people feel like their lives don't matter (read this article). Making political statements are great and needed because thats what fashion is really about, designing a visual statement.

There's always positive vibes when Teen Vogue host a party. Teen Vogue's EIC Amy Astley and Sportmax had a in-store party to celebrate the launch of their Fall/Winter 2014 collection. When I arrived there was a line of young teens waiting their chance to speak and take photos with Amy. Also, I also spotted Joe Jonas who is rumored to be dating model Gigi Hadid who was also the guest of the evening. Few of the Teen Vogue staff was on hand at the party including the Style Features Director, Andrew Bevan.
