Marissa Webb, Former Womenswear Designer at J.Crew Launches Her Own Line

Marissa Webb
I've always been in love with J.Crew's aesthetic and overall coolness and while I noticed many retail copycats, J.Crew stands alone. To J.Crew major success especially on the womenswear end much credit goes to Marissa Webb, former Head Womenswear Designer at the retail giant for the past eleven years. She recently left the company to launch her own womenswear line, according to WWD. This is exciting news because she worked beside fashion fav, Jenna Lyons for so many years and now she will design clothes on her terms. Obviously, the collection that will launch during New York Fashion Week this Fall, will not be the second coming of J.Crew. The collection will be a mix of edgier and feminine pieces. The prices are definitely a main indicator as a T-shirts will be priced up to $125 and blazers, $325.

You can watch the video below and see Marissa in action when she worked at J.Crew.
