6 Cocktails for the Summer

It's that time of the year.... Independence Day Weekend! For some of us it's a long weekend, which is good to hang out with friends and family. One of my favorite things to do during this weekend or just generally in the summer is to make some tasty cocktails. I put together 6 cocktails that are fun to make and delicious to taste.

Watermelon Sage Lemonade
2 oz. (60 ml) BULLDOG Gin
1 oz. (30 ml) Watermelon Juice
1 oz. (30 ml) Sage Simple Syrup
1 oz. (30 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
Garnish with a Sage Leaf


Malibu American Flag (festive for July 4th)
 .75 parts Blue Curacao
.75 parts Malibu Coconut Rum
.75 parts Campari
Preparation:
In a shot glass layer Blue Curacao, then Malibu and then Campari on the top for a very Patriotic-looking shooter or sipper.


SMOKE Sunset Sip
6 oz. SMOKE Liqueur
2oz. Sprite
Garnish with lime wedges

Baileys Cool Raspberry
2 ounces Baileys Original Irish Cream
8-9 Raspberries
Crushed ice
Preparation
1. Place 4-5 raspberries at the bottom of a rocks glass and lightly muddle them.
2. Fill glass with crushed ice.
3. Pour Baileys Original Irish Cream over ice and garnish with three speared raspberries.

Captain Palmer
         3 oz. Darjeeling, Lemongrass (tea base)
         1 oz. Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum or Captain Morgan Black Spiced Rum
       ½ oz. lemon juice or fresh squeezed Lemon
        Lemon slice
Preparation:  Brew tea base or tea bag in 6-8 oz of water. Brew hot for four minutes and flash-chill, or cold for one hour. Combine tea with ingredients, pour over ice into a Highball Glass; with Black Spiced Rum, pour over ice into Rocks Glass. Garnish with Lemon Slice.

Black Label Mojito
1.5 oz. Johnnie Walker Black Label (25 oz. per bottle)
1 oz. fresh lime juice
2 oz. ginger ale
0.5 oz. simple syrup
1 splash(es) sour mix
