Street Style Inspected: Menswear Influenced... above: Katherine Davidson Hudson

Besides going to fashion shows and presentations during Fashion Week, eyeing the editors, style bloggers/influencers and models attending the shows is another show all in itself. However what I inspected during the New York fashion week scene is that many of them were on the same wavelength wearing menswear-inspired pieces. Full suits, oversized blazers and pants, it looked like most of them had a group chat with each and decided to wear the same thing for the week, lol!

Rihanna's Fenty x Puma pink mounds of sand during New York Fashion Week.

Did Rihanna, the ultimate millennial had a thing for the millennial pink with the mounds of sand at her Fenty x Puma fashion extravaganza? I would say,Yes! Rihanna was definitely on to something... Pink. Pink ( or millennial pink) was sprinkled through out many shows during New York fashion week. Pink is definitely not a new color but with many recent articles highlighting this color of late, it's not going any where.

How do feel about the millennial Pink trend?

Inspection Report: Son Jung Wan Spring/Summer '18 Show

Who: Son Jung Wan Spring/Summer '18 Runway Show
Where: Skylight Clarkson Square
Overall: There’s a reason that after the first three looks from the Son Jung Wan show I knew I was going to take delight in this show. The S/S ’18 collection was inspired by the French Rivera, dope location. I posted about the French Rivera before on Chic Inspector. The bold vibrant colors of the French Rivera is hard to miss and the Son Jung Wan collection really captured that. Beside the colors, Son Jung Wan executed the technique of embellishments that created depth and texture. I never been to the French Rivera but if the Mediterranean coastline is a glimpse like this collection I need to go there asap!

Who: Brandon Maxwell Spring/Summer '18 Runway Show

Where: Doubles Club New York

Overall: Having some of the hottest models fiercely grace your runway is just the icing on Brandon Maxwell's cake for his Spring/Summer '18 runway show. We all know Brandon can give some amazing red carpet and evening wear looks but he took a turn this season. He turned to the more casual side by incorporating jeans in his collection. Without abandoning his aesthetic of fluidity and tailoring, the blouses to the sweaters still had that Brandon's touch. Even though it was obvious that Brandon is trying to slowly branch out of the evening wear category, I hope he doesn't lose core customer.
