Every year AGTA invites bloggers and editors vote in the Agta Spectrum & Cutting Edge competition. This is my third year and every year it's better. It amazes me what designers can do with metal and stones. My top choice was Edie Sakamoto's" Piqued My Interest" cuff. My first glance I didn't]'t realize it was a cuff, but I guess that's what the competition is about. Using jewelry components to design something completed unexpected and out of the box.

Inspected Trend: Floral Suiting |
Let's be honest Spring is not "Spring" without some floral action taking place. On the Spring '14 runways there were water colored to abstract prints. However besides the prints, it was the styling of the florals that caught my attention. For Ostwald Helgason, they had head to toe looks in different color variations of prints. Rebecca Taylor and Christian Siriano did something similar of having a suit... a blazer and pants in matching floral.

S.I.L.K Spring '14 Preview |
Womenswear label, S.I.L.K continuously stays true to their core customer. According to Creative Director Michele Lee, who was at the S.I.L.K Spring '14 preview said, "it's all about gardening, glistering, glamour. You can see the citrine colors, bold and floral prints are our signature." The citrine honeycomb prints was definitely a stand out in the showroom. Another hot commodity was the metallic denim jacket, which was Michele favorite piece in the collection. She said of her favorite piece, "It's very easy to wear, you can match it with anything during the daytime or nighttime."

Being a working single girl is not an easy feat when your trying to date. Many people, myself included have been using various dating apps to increase our chances of meeting someone. However having an instant connection in the internet world is very bleak. I attended the the Swoon Relaunch party at the Gramercy Hotel and I was pleased to know that the app tries duplicate the notion of seeing someone you like and capturing that attraction without the distraction of essays, bios, likes and dislikes and forever long questionnaires. In real life there's none of that when you meet someone. For Swoon all you need to do is swipe right if you like that person and left if you don't... it's just that easy.
I had a quick chat with Swoon's Head of Product, Molly Messenger, here's what she had to say about Swoon...

Reinventing the Denim Jacket |
As they prepare to return to the stage with The Big Reunion tour this December, there is one part of their heyday that '90s girl band B*Witched will want to leave behind them. While we still remember the words to their hits and have been known to pull off some of the dance routines, we'd rather forget those shocking double-denim looks. Although denim jackets have made a comeback in the last few years, there are certain rules that must be followed to bring this look into the 21st century.
Just when you thought that denims' days were over, fashion-forward stars like Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Cara Delevingne started working this tough fabric into their everyday looks. With a host of famous faces buying into the revival of the '90s staple, the nation's favourite high street stores are catching on too. Ditch those misgivings and shop on-trend women's jackets at Very to keep chic and warm through autumn/winter.
How do you make sure your denim jacket is more Cara D than 'C'est La Vie'? Luckily the latest styles have been updated with a load of new details. Try a cropped cut with three-quarter sleeves, channel the vintage trend with an oversized shape, or opt for a jacket with a design feature like embroidered paneling across the back and shoulders or punky zip details.
The truly brave fashionista can copy the likes of Alexa Chung and go for double denim. Britney and Justin at the 2001 American Music Awards effectively killed off this trend for a good few years, but if you go for mismatched shades and avoid even a hint of patchwork, this can be an edgy and modern look.
Thanks to its trendy makeover, the denim jacket has joined the ranks of the classic white shirt and timeless red lip as one of the ultimate style staples of the modern woman's wardrobe. Whether you're after a lightweight cover-up for casual days out or looking to dress down a killer cocktail dress, this iconic design is a style savvy choice whatever the occasion.

LAURA VELA Spring 2014 Preview & Installation |
Who: Laura Vela Spring '14 Preview
Where: No. 8, NYC
Overall: This was my first time attending an installation during New York Fashion Week and I appreciate the different way of showcasing the accessories, which was propelled from the ceiling. It was difficult to really see the construction and details of the bags with them being in that position. But when I did get the chance to hold and see them up close, the bags were soft and the subtle details of fur to snakeskin, didn't make them look gawdy at all. My favorites were the clutches.
Grade: C+
